Icebergs to Iguanas

Icebergs to Iguanas is a collection of my treasured National Geographic images and memories enlightened with behind-the-scenes stories, fascinating captions and personal observations extracted from my field journals.

For me, photography is more than just capturing beautiful pictures, it’s about telling a story. Icebergs to Iguanas reflects how I saw my assignments, and why they were important to me.

My aim is to share with you the beauty, adventure, hardship and danger; disease, laughter, and wonder of my life on the road. To inspire people about the wonderful natural world in which we live, whilst simultaneously celebrating our diverse cultures.

Little did I know my scheduled launch of the project would coincide, literally to the day, with Australia closing its borders and Melbourne going into Earth’s longest lockdown. What followed was an emotional journey through the imagery and field notes of my life on the road. The result is this first volume in a series that will feature assignments that meant something to me personally.

  • "What I found within its pages was meditative as much as thrilling.

    The West Australian
  • "To say this book is beautiful is to undersell its depth, its reach, its courage and its power. Mirroring our tumultuous world, Icebergs to Iguanas will challenge and change you.
